What is Digital Democracy?Â
Digital democracy also known as the ‘new politics’ is a creation of the 21st Century through technological advancement and is now very popular among people of all ages; it has become a tool for communication, information distribution, and activism, and people use it for making decisions, especially when they involve foreign or national security matters and many international bodies are working on several aspects to increase their influence over global issues (Britt & Blanchard 2008).
The new politics acts as an instrument for influencing other nations as well, so it has become very important as an important factor behind globalization, peace, and stability all the time even after World War II and the economic crisis of 2007-2008. This paper discusses the various social media in use nowadays i.e., Facebook, Twitter, etc. that play a significant role in society. It further discusses how these media influence our everyday lives and the future of our country and what the need is for us to know about them to participate fully in this new form of governance and social change.
